Care Program
CARE (Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education) is a program offered through EOPS. The primary goal of CARE is to provide single parents receiving CalWORKS or TANF cash aid (for themselves or their children) additional support and services to attend college and obtain a degree and/or marketable job skill.
Eligibility
To be eligible for CARE, you must:
- Receive CalWORKS or TANF cash assistance for yourself or your child(ren)
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be the head of a one-parent CalWORKS/TANF assisted household
- Be enrolled in at least nine units at Butte College
- Have a child under the age of 14
- Be eligible for EOPS
Verification of CARE eligibility is provided by your county of residence.
Care Services
- Specialized counseling assistance
- Referrals to community-based programs and services
- Additional services as funds are available
- Textbook assistance (in addition to EOPS textbook assistance)
- Meal cards
- Gas cards
- Grants
- Specialized CARE workshops
Application
All CARE students must first qualify for EOPS.
The EOPS Application Process will give you the opportunity to answer questions pertaining to CARE eligibility.
